I'm back writing.
Whilst life is still progressing at break-neck speed, I'm trying to squeeze in some time to put together a special episode of my series to celebrate Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary in November.
Nothing's concrete at the moment, with free-time still being a rarity, but I've got an idea and I'm working on an outline - and it's something big!
I'll be contacting the main cast when I have something more concrete to present, but hopefully James, Rose and Alex will all be making a return to the series after a year-long hiatus.
Hopefully, I'll be bringing you more news soon, but why not check out the four episodes of the series that have already been released and re-familiarise yourself with the 12th Doctor and his companions on YouTube or Vimeo.

UPDATE: The Writer's Blog On YouTube
After a brief absence from YouTube, The Writer's Blog Channel has now returned.
The reasons for this absence were mentioned in an update to the post regarding our joining of YouTube on 13th June, you can find that post here. But now after sorting out the mess that was my internet accounts, the channel is back up and running with full availability on all of our videos.
If you're on YouTube and you're a fan of the series, subscribe to the channel to be notified with any updates or video uploads.
As for my own absence, I don't know when I'm going to be able to return from my self-imposed exile. Real life has taken a dramatic stranglehold of my free time so I've not really had time to progress with the series - I am, however, checking other blogs out there on a regular basis, so don't worry about my disappearance.
This project is not dead. I will return soon!

News In Brief
Sorry for the lack of posts this month folks, but rest assured things are continuing to progress. The lack of updates stems from the fact that the things I'm working on are quite spoiler-y and I don't want to spoil the surprises that are in store for you.
Here's just a brief round-up of what's going on at this moment in time:
Here's just a brief round-up of what's going on at this moment in time:
- Scripting work continues on Episode 5.
- Filming continues on Episode 8.
- Casting continues on Episodes 5 & 8.
- Big news coming soon regarding Episodes 6 & 7.
I've got an idea for a new trailer so I'll look at bringing that to you soon, and I'll hopefully be delivering more screenshots of Episode 8 in the near future.

A Reward
Now that I have some lines filtering in, I have once again started filming the series - beginning with CaptinFranko's episode, Father Time.
It's been over six months since I released the last episode of the series, so to reward your patience as everything grinds into gear once more, I thought I'd treat you to this tantalising screenshot from today's filming.
EDIT: This is also the last call for any questions you want posed to JR Mortimer about Episode 10 of the series. If this Q&A proves successful, then I may consider doing it for the other guest written episodes.

Spine-Tingling Performance
You may remember him as Giovanni from A Renaissance Tale, but Neil Alexander is once again set to join the series in the upcoming episode, Father Time.
Last time he played a friend to the Doctor, who met a grizzly end at the hands of the Meddling Monk, but this time he is going to put the Doctor to the test as the primary antagonist in the story penned by CaptinFranko.
So far Neil has delivered roughly half of his lines for the episode and they're totally top-notch. This guy is extremely versatile and his performance is a million miles away from Giovanni. It's positively spine-tingling!
Prepare for one of the darkest and creepiest episodes of the series so far!

The Grand Finale
James Hall has returned as the Doctor! After taking a break while progress on the series has slowed, James returned to the role yesterday beginning recordings for the season finale - Acceptance Disobedience.
The story, written by JR Mortimer, sees the Doctor facing one of his most difficult challenges when he comes face-to-face with the Embodiment - a confrontation which may signal the end of days.
The finale really is unconventional in the sense of what we've come to expect from New-Who, but I think it's a script in which the characters really thrive, especially the Doctor, and I know James is going to put in a stellar performance.
I recently spoke to JR Mortimer about this episode and he's agreed to a short Question & Answer session in order to promote the episode. I've got some questions in mind, but if there's any burning questions you want to ask, please email them to burkey.themovies@yahoo.co.uk. Accompanying this, JR also offered to record a short blog, introducing and discussing the episode - so you can look forward to that closer to release time!!
In other news, I'm hoping to be done with Thirteen very soon. The script has progressed nicely since I returned from my self-imposed hiatus, and the story is reaching it's climax as the race is on to save the crew of Apollo 13.
EDIT 25/06/12 - An addition by JR Mortimer:
Hello! Writer of episode 10 here, JR Mortimer. Just a quick reminder on here as well as the post above that you can now submit questions to me, about my episode, to Burkey's email address.
I shall be writing non-spoilery answers as the Q and A will be released before my episode. My blog, however, will be full of spoilers, released after the episode, and contain a very indepth look into the writing of the episode.
I hope you enjoy all the exclusive writery things I'm taking part in, and look forward to answering your questions.

Voice Actors Needed!
This is a last shout-out for voice actors who want to get involved in the series. At the moment there are three episodes attempting to be cast, meaning there's plenty of variety in the roles available so there's something for everyone.
All auditions need to be in by Midnight GMT tomorrow - that's Wednesday 20th June - so I'm afraid you haven't got much time. Send all auditions in either .wav or .mp3 format to burkey.themovies@yahoo.co.uk.
I can't wait to be hearing from you all!
